Meet the artist…

Hi there, I’m Shifra! I grew up in Oak Park, Michigan and always had an interest in arts and craft projects. Pottery was something I’ve always wanted to try. I started working with clay in 1998 and haven’t stopped since. Aside from clay, I try to use my creative abilities toward many other crafts as well.

Pottery with a purpose…

Over the years I’ve found a unique way to express working with clay, creating many one of a kind hand built and wheel thrown pieces. This form of handcrafted ceramic art is unique, functional and decorative all at the same time.

Throughout the years I’ve had the opportunity to teach art to hundreds of children and young adults with special needs. Enjoying my summer months working hand in hand with children faced with chronic illnesses and life threatening diseases, running the Pottery Workshop in Camp Simcha, Chai Lifeline. Along with several different arts, I enjoy many crafts and outdoor activities such as Swimming, Blading, Skiing, and Cycling. Over the past 8 years I’ve raised over 180K for all the amazing Camp Simcha Warriors thru the TourDeSimcha charity ride.

Hope you enjoy some pictures and clips of me working with these special Camp Simcha Warriors. If you’re feeling touched and want to support this cause, feel free to click on my link below and check out my page for the upcoming TourDeSimcha ride. Every donation is appreciated and goes directly to Camp Simcha, a non profit organization servicing Children and Young adults faced with chronic illnesses and life threatening diseases.
